HOW TO MAKE TEA
The Tea Strainer steeps loose leaf tea right in your teacup. The large shape of the Firebelly strainer allows tea leaves space to open fully, so you get the most flavor. It's also a whole lot easier to clean.
- Place the Tea Strainer in your teacup.
- Add 1 tbsp. of tea leaves to the Strainer.
- Add warm water and steep. Check your packaging or the steeping guide below for the right temperature and steeping time for your tea.
- Transfer the Strainer to the resting cup and enjoy your tea.
HOW TO CLEAN
Rinse well with warm water and dish soap. Handwashing is recommended.
Seeing staining over time? Try a vinegar and baking soda solution or a scouring cleanser like Barkeepers Friend for an extra scrub.
- Add 1 tbsp. tea leaves to the mug.
- Add warm water to the appropriate fill line – that's the top line for hot tea or the bottom line for iced tea.
- If you're making iced tea, add ice to the inner chamber of the press.
- Insert the press. When the press is out or in an "up" position, the leaves can freely open and infuse in the warm water. When you push the press firmly all the way down, the leaves are trapped at the bottom of the mug, and infusion stops.
There's no need to remove the leaves before you enjoy your tea, so no reason to make a mess while you're out.
HOW TO CLEAN
Keep your travel mug in great shape by handwashing only. Use warm water and soap to clean the mug and press after use – remember the press fully disassembles for cleaning! Consider a bottle brush to reach down to the bottom of the mug.
Seeing staining over time? Try a vinegar and baking soda solution or a scouring cleanser like Barkeepers Friend for an extra scrub for both the mug and press.
Important: Let all pieces fully dry before reassembling.
- With the infuser in place inside the pitcher, add your tea leaves to the infuser. We recommend about 1 tbsp. per cup.
- Next, add your warm water to just above the silicone sleeve. Steep your tea leaves for the appropriate time. For Firebelly teas, this time will be noted on your packaging or in the list on this page.
- When you're done steeping, simply lift the infuser out of the pitcher and set it aside. Add ice right away to cool off your tea faster, and replace the lid to chill further in the fridge or pour over ice in glasses.
The pitcher fully disassembles for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe.
